The Seed and The Harvest

“I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.” Jeremiah 17:10

You don’t have to be perfect, to be blessed. That old saying about getting an A for effort applies when you do your best to live in God’s will.  He knows that we will never be perfect.  We may get the free ticket into Heaven that Jesus paid a hefty price for, but if we are to enjoy ourselves in this world, it will serve us well to meditate on those things that are good.

I can’t tell you how much it changed my life when I began to dismiss negative thoughts that came into my head and chose to think about how much I’d been blessed in my life.

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8

Lent is underway so for the remainder of the time, give up thinking, focusing, pondering or meditating on anything negative.  It’s will be the best workout you can give your soul. It’s not easy, but if you have trouble ask God for help.  Don’t quit trying – remember you can get an A for effort.

“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.”  Psalm 55:22

All the while, keep in mind that there is never a moment when God doesn’t want to give you so many blessings.  God gave us free will and with that, we can choose right thoughts causing the right attitudes to follow.  When we set our intentions on thinking right, this opens up a whole new world for us, and we will begin to feel so good, to see new opportunities, we’ll receive blessings that we hadn’t even imagined and some of those we have been waiting for.

“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”  Luke 12:32
